The United States Supreme Court was created by the Judiciary Act of September 24, 1789 in accordance with Article III, Section 1 of the United States Constitution.
The Supreme Court is comprised of 1 Chief Justice and a number of Associate Justices. Justices are chosen by the President of the United States and ratified by the United States Senate.
The Justices of the Supreme Court are appointed for life..."until death do they part" or retirement...Sorry...
The term of the Court begins the first Monday of October and usually last until the end of June.
